Samhain Soundtrack

I had a couple questions about the music we played at last night’s Denton CUUPS Samhain Circle. Here’s what I could find on YouTube.

Prelude: Dead Can Dance – The Host of Seraphim

This was intended to be a focusing piece – music to get everyone to stop their conversations, forget about everything outside the circle, forget about what had gone on earlier in the day and think about nothing but where we were and what we were doing. I don’t usually get anxious about circles any more, but I was very anxious about this one. In the six minutes it took to listen to this song that all changed for me.

Approaching the Labyrinth: Dead Can Dance – Sanvean

Walking the Labyrinth: Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares (The Bulgarian Female Vocal Choir) – Kalimankou Denkou (The Evening Gathering)

Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares (The Bulgarian Female Vocal Choir) – Messetschinko lio Greilivko (Love Song From the Mountains)

Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares (The Bulgarian Female Vocal Choir) – Polegnala e Pschenitza (Harvest Song From Thrace)

Returning From the Labyrinth: Faun – Lupercalia

Dead Can Dance – The Lotus Eaters

Simple Feast: S.J. Tucker – Come to the Labyrinth

I picked this video because it’s a live performance. Tricky Pixie is S.J. Tucker’s group project – that’s S.J. singing and playing guitar.

Damh the Bard – Morrighan
